Yuting Hsueh Appointed Assistant Professor in Design at National Taiwan Normal University

NTNU alumnus (BA '98) Yuting Hsueh (薛佑廷) has been appointed as an assistant professor in Department of Design at National Taiwan Normal University ( NTNU, 國立臺灣師範大學) . Holding MFA in cinema from Columbia College Chicago, Yuting is a former assistant professor in Mass Communication at Chinese Culture University (中國文化大學) , and a current adjunct assistant professor in Animation at Taipei National University of Arts (TNUA, 國立臺北藝術大學). He has been teaching computer animation in colleges since 2008, maintaining an active production profile. Yuting is also an award-winning f ilm director with more than 50 film festival records , including 9 of the Oscar® qualifying. ANIFLIX is an online paid video streaming platform and database that focuses on selected, important animated short films made by contemporary Taiwan's independent directors and students. Launched in December 2019, the platform is curated by National Taiwan Normal University's Professor Yen-Jung Chang (張晏榕), operated by Gemhorn, Inc. (朕宏國際), and supported by Ministry of Science and Technology. Jury members for Chunghwa Telecom VTuber Competition

Chunghwa Telecom(中華電信) is one of the leading telecom service providers in Taiwan. 432 finalists from 745 entrants were selected to compete for the Gold Prix and NT$1,000,000. The award ceremony kicks off on November 6th. The winner goes to "Lumina(光音凱伶)", the virtual character with girl's appearance in anime style, designed by Hong Kong's designer, NAik. Lumina will be the ambassador of Chunghwa Telecom and its Fiber to Home Service in connection with the consumer, especially for the younger generation. Yuting Hsueh in exhibition theme of "Body System" at 2019 Taipei Art District Festival The ward-winning animated short "The Wayward Kite" (風箏) is screening at DaGuan Gallery (大觀藝術中心) during 2019 Taipei Art District Festival (大內藝術節) from Oct. 5th to Nov. 3rd. Taipei Art District Festival, founded in 2014, is couched within the areas of Dazhi (大直) and Neihu (內湖) in Taipei, Taiwan, which are known for the location of many diverse, upscale art galleries. In partnership with the neighboring art galleries, the festival seeks to build community and momentum for the local art industry through celebrating all things arts together every October. The 2019 Taipei Art District Festival kicks off on Oct. 5th, and runs through Nov. 3rd. On the Jury for 2019 TIAF Official Line-up of Short Film Competition

The 5th Taichung International Animation Festival (TIAF) announced today (Jul 31st) the official line-up of the Short Films in Competition. Film director Yuting Hsueh (薛佑廷) had an honor of being on the jury, along with professor Chiao-Fang Lin (林巧芳), artist Xu-Zhan Zhang (張徐展) & Program director C. Jay Shih (石昌杰), finalizing 60 short films out of the 2,201 submissions from 88 countries/regions within two-months of jury selection process. TIAF is the biggest animation festival in Taiwan with the prizes totaling TWD$ 1.2 million (about US$ 39 thousand) for Short Films in Competition & Student Films in Competition this year. All these 60 films will be screened from October 11th to October 20th 2019 at Kbro Cinemas in Taichung. The award winners will be announced at the awarding ceremony on October 16th.
