The award-winning animated short film "The Wayward Kite" now is available for watch on ANIFLIX in 2020.

ANIFLIX is an online paid video streaming platform and database that focuses on selected, important animated short films made by contemporary Taiwan's independent directors and students.

Launched in December 2019, the platform is curated by National Taiwan Normal University's Professor Yen-Jung Chang (張晏榕), operated by Gemhorn, Inc. (朕宏國際), and supported by Ministry of Science and Technology.

ANIFLIX lets creators set their price under its paywall service, which could be a boon for independent filmmakers seeking a way to distribute their work.

"The Wayward Kite" is an 8-min computer animated short film, written and directed by Yuting Hsueh in 2017. It is about a little kite on its odyssey of self-discovery. The film had a successful global festival circuit in 2017-2018, winning the Best Experimental at 2017 World Animation Celebration, and the Best Animation at 2018 Beverly Hills Film Festival. It also made into 4 Oscar® Qualifying competitions, screening in more than 20 top tier film festivals in the world.
