2018 HPC Kung Fu - NCHC 3D Animation Challenge

The jury of 2018 HPC Kung Fu - NCHC 3D Animation Challenge: Jack Shih, Gooshun Wang, Rose Fu, Yuting Hsueh chose their picks.

Out of 77 teams submitted from Taiwan's colleges and universities, 30 films were selected to compete for the Grand Prix worth NT$300,000(aboutUS$10,000) at the 7th 2018 HPC Kung Fu - NCHC 3D Animation Challenge (功夫 - 國網3D動畫全國大賽), which was hosted by South Taiwan Industry Promotion Center (中山大學南區促進產業發展研究中心), co-organized by High-performance Computing Center - National Applied Research Laboratories (國家實驗研究院高速網路與計算中心), Ministry of Science & Technology (科技部), Ministry of Economic Affairs (經濟部), and Ministry of Culture (文化部)

The awards ceremony kicked off in Kaohsiung Software Technology Park (高雄軟體科技園區) on September 10th, 2018. The jury Jack Shih (史明輝, chair, TNUA animation), Gooshun Wang (王谷神, camera & staging artist, Blue Sky Studios), Rose Fu (傅慧娟, general manager, DIT Startup), Yuting Hsueh (薛佑廷 winner of 2017 WAC - Sony Animation) chose their picks as below:

1st Place - Bennu and Cain (貝努與蓋因)
2ns Place - A Moving Day (搬家日)
3rd Place - Pigeon Express (灰鴿傳輸)

Honorable mention –Republic of Grace (富麗堅合眾國)
Honorable mention – Gone with the wind (漂)

Best VFX of professional – 碎壞蝕
Best VFX of student - Bouncingball
